Expressive Arts and Design

Expressive Arts and Design is the development of children’s imagination and creativity. The children have regular opportunities to engage with ‘the arts’, allowing them to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials. They have access to provision that allows them to design and make, paint and use different materials such as fabric, tissue and playdough. Children experience music – both listening to and making their own. They learn a large repertoire of songs and confidently sing them. Children develop their understanding of how to move their bodies to music and with express themselves through dance. They are provided with quality learning experiences that allow them to see, hear and participate to develop their understanding, vocabulary and self-expression.
