Our School

Early Years

Welcome to our Early Years Foundation Stage unit!

Nursery and Reception now work together in one large unit. The staff work closely together to plan a range of exciting activities and provision following the children’s interests, whilst carefully thinking about progression of learning.

Having the children together has many benefits – most importantly it allows the staff to build excellent relationships with the children throughout their time in the EYFS. It allows for a seamless, worry-free transition for children when they move from our Nursery to Reception as they remain in the same setting with familiar adults.

The mixed age unit also allows our children to access work at their level – our youngest children can access challenges and those who might need a little extra support have access to this throughout carpet inputs and provision daily. The children engage in a mix of whole class, small group, mixed age and mixed ability activities as well as adult directed and independent, self-chosen learning.

If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing, please contact the school office.

Early Years Curriculum Tile

We are very proud of our EYFS

Ofsted said that:

"The curriculum in Early Years is carefully considered to take account of children’s starting points. Leaders prioritise the development of language and communication skills. Adults provide lots of opportunities for children to develop their early literacy and mathematics skills”

We have a team of highly skilled staff who are dedicated and ensure that your child has the very best start to their education.  In EYFS we provide the children with well-planned, fun and engaging learning experiences through our stimulating indoor and outdoor environments.

(We offer 30 hours free childcare for Nursery children, to find out if you are eligible please visit childcarechoices.gov.uk. If you are not eligible but would be interested in extra hours or dinner time provision please contact the office for further information.)
