SEND & Inclusion
Belonging First
At Holycroft, every child is valued, included and supported to succeed. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
Our mainstream classrooms are the foundation of our inclusive approach. We believe that high-quality teaching for all children is the most important support we can provide.
Teaching is adapted to meet different needs so that every child can access learning, feel included and make progress.
Our commitment to SEND and inclusion
- Every child belongs in our school community
- Needs are identified early and supported promptly
- Teaching is adapted to remove barriers to learning
- Support is matched carefully to individual needs
- Children’s strengths are recognised and celebrated
Where additional support is needed, we provide targeted interventions and work closely with families and specialist services to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.
Working in partnership
Parents and carers know their children best. We value open, honest communication and work closely with families to ensure consistency and understanding between home and school.
Children are identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities when their progress has slowed or stopped and the interventions, resources and support put in place do not enable improvement. Once this occurs, we have specific needs based plans which help support a child's development and accelerate progress.
The downloadable documents below provide useful background infomation about SEND provision. If you would like any further information about what we are able to offer at Holycroft Primary School then please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
The SENDCo in school is Mrs N Bailey. If you have any questions about SEND, please do get in touch.
Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. Our aim is for all children to feel safe, confident, supported and proud of who they are.
