All the children at the school receive a widely based education in mixed ability groups.
The National Curriculum covers a broad spectrum, including mathematics, science, technology, English (including reading, writing, talking and listening), arts, music, history, geography, R.E., P.E., ICT and personal & social education. Throughout all areas we support and encourage bilingualism, where appropriate to support learning.
Many aspects of the curriculum are organised in an integrated way, which is meaningful to the children. This encourages pupils to appreciate the inter-relationships between different areas, and be able to apply skills, knowledge and competence in one area, to tasks to be undertaken in others. However, in order to ensure coverage of all National Curriculum subjects it is necessary to deliver some aspects of the curriculum in discreet subject areas.
